Negros Power Strengthens School Safety Through Brigada Eskwela 2026

Negros Power demonstrated its ongoing support for education and community safety by joining Brigada Eskwela 2026. Between June 1 and 5, 2026, the company visited 23 public schools in Bacolod City, Bago City, Murcia, Silay City, and Talisay City.

Negros Power employees teamed up with teachers, parents, school staff, barangay officials, and community volunteers to get schools ready for the new school year. Their efforts helped make classrooms cleaner, safer, and more comfortable for students.

But the company did more than just help with cleaning and maintenance. Negros Power made electrical safety a main focus of its Brigada Eskwela activities.

Negros Power Supports 23 Public Schools

Brigada Eskwela is a community effort to prepare public schools before students return. Volunteers help by cleaning classrooms, fixing furniture, painting walls, organizing materials, and improving school grounds.

Negros Power participated in this nationwide project by sending employees to 23 public elementary and high schools within its service area.

Some of the schools they visited included Ramon Torres National High School in Bago City, Murcia Elementary School, Eustaquio Lopez Elementary School in Silay City, Singcang National High School, Handumanan National High School, and Domingo Lacson National High School.

The company also supported several other schools in Bacolod City, Bago City, Murcia, Silay City, and Talisay City.

By joining this activity, Negros Power employees helped the community make sure students have classrooms ready for the new school year.

Free Electrical Inspections Improve School Safety

Negros Power took an extra step by working with the Association of Barangay Electricians and Linemen, or ABEL.

Together, they offered free electrical inspections at every school in the program. The teams checked wiring, switches, outlets, connections, and other electrical systems in classrooms and school buildings.

These inspections helped identify damaged components and possible electrical hazards before classes officially began.

Electrical problems can put students, teachers, and school staff in danger. Loose connections, old wiring, broken outlets, and overloaded circuits can cause electric shocks, damage equipment, or even start fires if left unaddressed.

By checking these systems early, Negros Power and ABEL helped school leaders address safety issues before thousands of students returned to campus.

Protecting Students and Teachers

Unice Castillon, Community Relations Assistant Manager at Negros Power, said that keeping students and teachers safe is still one of the company’s top priorities.

Castillon explained that working with ABEL made it possible for the teams to check the wiring, electrical connections, and facilities at every school they visited.

She said that spotting possible hazards early helps make schools safer for students, teachers, and staff.

Focusing on prevention makes this project even more valuable. Clean classrooms matter, but they also need safe electrical systems. Lights, fans, computers, TVs, and other equipment all rely on well-maintained wiring.

These inspections provided schools with extra help to ensure their facilities were ready for everyday use.

Community Cooperation Makes Brigada Eskwela Successful

Brigada Eskwela succeeds because schools, families, private groups, local government, and volunteers all work together.

Negros Power’s involvement shows how a utility company can use its skills and resources to meet a community need. Employees gave their time, and the partnership with ABEL brought in technical know-how to help prevent serious electrical issues.

Parents and teachers were also key to the five-day event. By working together, volunteers finished jobs that would have been hard for school staff to do alone.

This teamwork shows what Brigada Eskwela is really about. The program is more than just fixing buildings or cleaning up. It reminds everyone that education is something the whole community shares.

Supporting Education Beyond Electricity Distribution

Negros Power stressed that joining Brigada Eskwela is part of its bigger commitment to helping the community grow.

The company supplies electricity to homes, businesses, government offices, and schools in its area. But its role in the community is more than just keeping the lights on and fixing problems.

By helping public schools, Negros Power supports students who will one day become professionals, workers, business owners, and community leaders.

Reliable electricity is important for today’s schools. Teachers use computers, projectors, printers, fans, and other tools to make lessons better. Students also learn more easily in classrooms that are well-lit and well-ventilated.

For all these tools to work safely, schools need electrical systems that are properly installed and maintained.

Negros Power Helps Build Safer Schools Across Central Negros

Building Safer Schools and Brighter Futures

Negros Power’s work with Brigada Eskwela 2026 shows that supporting communities means more than just providing electricity.

It also means looking out for people who use electricity and backing projects that improve daily life.

By visiting 23 public schools and offering free electrical inspections, the company helped lower safety risks before classes started. Working with ABEL brought a useful service that directly helped students, teachers, parents, and school staff.

As the new school year begins, thousands of students can return to classrooms that their communities have prepared with care.

Through Brigada Eskwela 2026, Negros Power continues to build its relationship with the communities it serves and helps create safer schools and brighter futures for young people in Central Negros.
