Empowering Participation: Bacolod City’s Innovative Proxy Voting Drive for JVA Plebiscite
In a significant development, Bacolod City Mayor Albee Benitez made a groundbreaking announcement last Monday, marking the initiation of an expansive campaign aimed at ensuring maximum participation in the upcoming Plebiscite concerning the JVA Proxy Voting. The campaign is set to address the constraints faced by some CENECO member-consumers who may need help to visit their designated precincts during the plebiscite period personally.
One of the primary initiatives undertaken as part of this campaign is the establishment of convenient “proxy booths” strategically placed across key locations throughout the city. These booths are specifically designed to cater to the needs of member-consumers who, due to time constraints or other commitments, are unable to physically appear at the polling centers within the CENECO coverage areas during the Plebiscite.
Notably, CENECO has facilitated a provision allowing proxy voting in the Plebiscite. This provision permits member-consumers to exercise their voting rights even in their absence, provided they designate a proxy to cast their vote on their behalf.
Scheduled to take place on the following dates: August 19, 20, 26, and 27, as well as September 2 and 3, 2023, the Plebiscite holds immense significance for the future collaboration between CENECO and Primelectric/Negros Power.
For those who support the CENECO JVA and wish to contribute their vote but are hindered by time constraints, there’s a straightforward solution: proxy voting. The process is uncomplicated — interested member-consumers are encouraged to complete a proxy form.
These forms can be conveniently acquired at the dedicated CENECO JVA Proxy Voting booths located at various strategic points across the city:
- SM City Mall
- Ayala Mall
- Robinsons Mall
- City Mall
- Gaisano Mall
- 888 Mall
- Bacolod Old City Hall
- Bacolod City Government Center
- Barangay Hall of Taculing
- Barangay Hall of Estefania
- Barangay Hall of Tangub
These multiple locations have been chosen purposefully to ensure that the proxy forms are easily accessible to member consumers from diverse city areas. By making the proxy forms widely available, the campaign aims to enhance inclusivity and encourage active participation from a broad cross-section of the CENECO membership.
With a resounding call to action, the campaign urges all those in support of the CENECO JVA to seize the opportunity and exercise their democratic right through proxy voting. By choosing the proxy voting option, member-consumers can make their voices heard and contribute to shaping the future direction of the joint venture agreement.
Let our resounding chorus of “YES” echo through the Plebiscite and pave the way for progress. Join us as we unite to VOTE YES for JVA!
