Negros Power Celebrates Its First Lineman’s Day in Bacolod
Negros Power just kicked off its very first Lineman’s Day last Saturday, November 23, 2024, at the Paglaum Sports Complex in Bacolod City. This lively event wasn’t just another gathering; it was all about showing appreciation to the hardworking linemen—the unsung heroes who keep the lights on, especially during times of disaster.
And what a celebration it was!
A Day of Fun, Gratitude, and Prizes
The highlight of the event? A Dance Competition where teams of linemen show off not just their moves but also their incredible skills that go beyond climbing poles and fixing wires. Each group brought energy and style, making the competition a real crowd-pleaser.
To add to the excitement, there was a raffle where attendees could win loads of fabulous prizes. Smiles and cheers filled the venue as lucky winners walked away with their rewards.
Honoring the Unsung Heroes
Negros Power plans to make Lineman’s Day an annual tradition, and for good reason. It’s their way of saying “thank you” to the men who brave the elements to restore electricity, often risking their lives. This exciting news gives us all something to look forward to each year.
The celebration also paid tribute to the late lineman Jessie James Torremocha, whose dedication and service were remembered fondly during the event.
Negros Power President Roel Castro expressed his gratitude and admiration for the linemen in his speech:
“This is our way of recognizing our linemen’s dedication and hard work, and this will be an annual celebration for them.”
And the Winners Are…
The dance floor was on fire, but only a few could take home the trophies in every competition. Here’s the list of winners from the dance showdown:
- Champion: SLRP
- 1st Runner-Up: Eagle Claw
- 2nd Runner-Up: RJH
- 3rd Runner-Up: N3B
Special Awards
A few linemen stood out and snagged these fun titles:

Negros Power’s first Lineman’s Day wasn’t just a fun-filled event; it was a heartfelt celebration of the people who work tirelessly behind the scenes. With plans to make this an annual affair, we can look forward to more meaningful and entertaining gatherings in the future.
