Negros Power Donates One Hundred Sacks of Rice to Help Typhoon Tino Victims

When a community faces a powerful typhoon, the path to recovery can seem long and daunting. This is why acts of kindness and support are so important. After Typhoon Tino, Negros Electric and Power Corporation, known as Negros Power, stepped in to help families struggling with the storm’s effects. On November 17, 2025, the company donated 100 sacks of rice to support households still recovering.

This simple act has spread hope throughout Negros Occidental, especially among residents facing the challenges caused by the disaster.

A Heartfelt Response to a Community in Need

The donation included 100 sacks of rice, each weighing 25 kilograms. This makes a significant difference for families who need food supplies while their homes and livelihoods are still being rebuilt. Arnel Argusar, the General Services Department Head of Negros Occidental, personally received the rice.

His presence during the turnover underscored the importance of this support to the province. At a time when communities face uncertainty, a steady supply of food alleviates one worry.

Negros Power Stands Firm with the Negrense Community

Representatives from Negros Power also attended the turnover ceremony. Atty. Warven Ilalim, Ronald Reosura, the Community Relations Officer, and Klea Marie Tolones participated to show the company’s steadfast commitment to serving the people of Negros. Their presence reinforced the idea that Negros Power is not just a service provider; it is also a partner in the community.

By joining in the donation activity, these representatives reaffirmed the company’s mission to support Negrenses during tough times. The event was more than just a gesture. It served as a reminder that Negros Power stands with the community through every challenge.

A Message of Compassion from Company Leaders

Engr. Bernard Bailey Del Castillo, the Chief Technical Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Negros Power, shared a heartfelt message. He expressed the company’s support for everyone still affected by Typhoon Tino. His words offered comfort and reassurance to many Negrenses dealing with emotional and economic struggles after the disaster.

He conveyed the company’s sympathy for every resident impacted by the typhoon. He also pointed out that the rice donation is just a small part of the company’s commitment to helping communities recover and rebuild. This clear intention to assist demonstrated that Negros Power is genuinely connected to the people they serve.

Part of a Bigger Commitment to Service

This donation is not a one-time effort. Negros Power continues to engage in various community projects, especially in areas hard hit by natural disasters. The company has always believed in kindness and service, particularly when residents need help the most.

Their ongoing initiatives reflect a long-term commitment to community welfare. Negros Power understands that serving the people goes beyond supplying electricity. It also involves extending help during crises, supporting recovery efforts, and building trust within local communities. This approach positions the company not just as a power provider but as a dependable partner through both good times and bad.

Hope That Lights Up the Community

While Typhoon Tino caused damage and sorrow, stories like this bring light back to the people of Negros Occidental. The donation of one hundred sacks of rice is more than aid; it is a reminder that compassion still thrives even in tough times. It also illustrates how corporate responsibility can work alongside community spirit.

Negros Power continues to shine as an example of stepping up and making an actual difference. With ongoing efforts to support areas affected by disasters, the company shows that progress and recovery are achievable when everyone works together toward a common goal.
