Sabor Bisaya 2017 Food Expo & Culinary Competition
The 5th Sabor Bisaya Food Expo and Culinary Competition opens today July 19 and will end on July 21, at the SMX Convention Center, SM City Bacolod.
Gov. Alfredo Marañon, Jr. cut the ribbon to open the ceremony and gave the opening remarks while HRANO President, Sylvia Golez will also gave her welcome remarks.
Sabor Bisaya 2017 is organized by the Hotel and Restaurant Association of Negros Occidental (HRANO), Council of Hotel and Restaurant Educators of the Philippines-VI, and National Food Showdown, the three-day event is themed “Getting the Perfect Combination.”
HRANO director Roberto Magalona said Sabor Bisaya is an opportunity for the Negrense food industry to level up.
“We are bringing in vital industry stakeholders, including experts and celebrity chefs to avoid inbreeding of skills and talent,” Magalona said. “This is one effective venue to scale up our standards of excellence.”
Sabor Bisaya 2017 will gather 14 competing schools, and 12 food establishments in Negros Island Region and Panay Island along with suppliers which will showcase machineries, ingredients, and other related services in 34 exhibition booths.
The seminars will tackle various topics, including “The Current Trends and Issues in Hospitality and Industry Management,” “Globalization in Tourism Industry,” “Coaching for Success,” “Managing an Event as a Pro,” “Your Destiny to Wellness,” and “Learning the Art of Specialty Brewing.” Seminar fee is P200 for each topic.
The trade exhibition will be positioned to assist local businesses further develop by serving as network linking local food establishments and other clients to suppliers. Exhibit entrance fee is PHP50.
On July 21, the Chefs War national finals co-sponsored by the National Food Showdown will be held, with six finalists, comprised of three schools and three establishments.
