Novosbed designed Douglas and “labeled” it as “the most Canadian mattress in the country”. These guys use only Canadian-made materials. This fact is just amazing knowing that the company creates beds with top-class materials that make one supportive, comfortable and contouring mattress.
Douglas is an all-foam construction that has three layers of various densities; foam is an amazing material for all sleeping positions because it adjusts easily to your body frame and cradles every inch of your body. This way you feel supported, but comfortable as well. Foam is an excellent choice because it helps your body relax fast so you can sleep deep and without interruptions.
Before you purchase the Douglas mattress, we suggest you to check a review or two and see this bed’s properties, the way it was built, what type of firmness it has, edge support, price, motion transfer, cool sleep and what not.
Here you can check top 4 features for that are extremely important for a great sleep.
- Suitable for all sleeping positions – It’s so relieving to get a mattress that allows you to relax and sleep in whatever position you want. Douglas’ moderate firmness makes its sleeping surface adjustable for back, stomach and side sleepers. Your spine remains aligned and supported and yet you won’t feel any pressure or pain whenever you switch yourself to the side. Douglas has three foam layers, just enough to provide support, comfort, and stability (top layer adds comfort, the middle one is a great transition and support and the base is firm and stable).
- Cool sleep – People love sleeping on mattresses that provide enough coolness for a relaxed sleep free of overheating. When your bed provides this feature your sleeping cycle won’t be interrupted anyhow (often hot beds cause you the urge to kick your covers, or make you sweaty). Douglas’ first layer is made of cooling foam (2 inches) that regulates your temperature and makes the bed pleasantly fresh during the entire sleep. Besides the first layer, Douglas fights overheating with the latex foam layer in the middle. Latex is naturally a cooling material. On top of everything, the cover is breathable and absorbs moisture; it’s really soft and pleasant to the touch.
- Support – Per this buyer’s guide, besides feeling comfortable, your bed should provide you with support. Although memory foam is seen as a soft material that takes the shape of the sleeper after a short time, it doesn’t mean that it’s not supportive enough to keep you on the top of the bed. Douglas is an excellent choice for people who seek beds with great edge support. Yes, you can expect to sink in a little bit (this mostly depends on your weight and your preferred sleeping position). You can expect to have a comfortable and slightly sinking top layer, while the middle layer made of latex foam will prevent you from further sinkage. Latex in general is firmer than foam, which in this case works as an excellent transition between the top layer and the base.
- Motion transfer – Douglas will be the best choice for couples who are fed up of every little vibration that transfers to their side of the bed whenever their partner moves or gets up. Foam mattresses are absorbing motion transfer well and don’t let it move all over the sleeping surface. This way, you can toss and turn freely, without feeling guilty for waking up your partner.
As a bonus for this list comes the 120-nights sleep trial and the warranty of fifteen years. Plus, the company ships the mattress for free.

Hello, I live in rural Manitoba, I would like to buy your mattress but I see that you use Fedex for delivery. I checked around and I don’t think Fedex delivers in the rural area and do you know if they have near by drop off depots? Or can you use UPS or Loomis they have a drop off depot near by?
