Students chosen as beneficiaries of MassKarade Ball

Five students representing the sectoral group were chosen as beneficiaries for this year’s MassKarade Ball and will be awarded P100,000 each for their college scholarship grant during the festivities tonight at Sugarland Hotel, Bacolod.

Elena Mae Priza, 20, representing the transport sector hails from Brgy. Banago and currently a student at STI West Negros University.

I am grateful for this opportunity that serves as a stepping stone to secure my future. This scholarship is truly a beacon of hope, Priza said.

Shiella Mae Tito of Domingo Lacson National High School represents the women sector while John Keith Garcia, is representing the OFW sector.

Tito said, the scholarship program is a commitment to invest in education and truly commendable.

“The impact of your support goes far beyond the monetary value. It will open doors and create possibilities which would otherwise be beyond our reach,” Tito added.

Eurikah Fardia Gargallano on the other hand is a student of the Maranatha Christian College representing the PWD sector and has an average grade of 94 percent. In her message, Gargallano thanked Bacolod City Mayor Albee Benitez for choosing her as one of the beneficiaries.

“Your generous grant will make a huge impact in me and my parents’ lives and also motivates me to help others in need and will definitely do so in the future,” Gargallano said.

Karri Cioco, also a student of the Maranatha Christian College is representing the Youth sector and has an average grade of 95 percent.

Cioco thanked the mayor and Bacolod Yuhum Foundation as well as all the sponsors vowing that she will “do everything to make possible the vision of making Bacolod a Super City.”

Last year, the beneficiary of the first MassKarade Ball is the Operation Smile group that conducts outreach surgical procedures for children with cleft and palate deformities.
